Yamaha’s 2018 motorcycle and scooter ranges have been revealed tonight at the company’s exclusive ‘Pioneers of Emotion’ Press Première in Milan – prior to the opening of the prestigious EICMA motorcycle show in Italy.

As well as showing a range of new models in the company’s key segments, Yamaha also unveiled the new 3-wheel NIKEN – one of the industry’s most innovative and exciting motorcycles, especially for those customers who want to Ride the Revolution.

2018 New MT-07 and MT-09 SP

The new MT-07‘s more mature body design retains the fundamental character of the previous model, and blends it with new elements that have been inspired by the MT-09 – such as the bolder headlight that gives a more imposing face.

The MT range is constantly evolving and moving ahead in the never-ending quest to give every motorcyclist the opportunity to get the most out of every ride. Coming just one year after the launch of the new MT-09 – that has been a huge sales success in its first season – the Hyper Naked segment will be further strengthened by the launch of the new MT-09 SP.

For 2018 Yamaha’s team of designers have concentrated on reinforcing the much loved strengths and values of the Tracer 900, while also introducing a range of updates and changes that are aimed at enhancing the bike’s touring potential – as well as delivering an even more refined, high quality product.

Joining Yamaha’s Sport Touring range for 2018 is the Tracer 900GT, a new model that comes with a premium specification as standard. Developed from the Tracer 900 and sharing the same 2018 specification upgrades, the Tracer 900GT is designed to offer sport touring riders the ultimate package at a competitive price.

2018 Updated YZF-R1M and YZF-R1

The 2018 YZF-R1M claims to be the most advanced production motorcycle ever produced by Yamaha after Yamaha YZF R125. Featuring a crossplane engine and a wide range of sophisticated electronic control technology developed directly from the YZR-M1 Factory MotoGP race bikes, the YZF-R1M gives the high-demanding racer and track day rider the chance to realise his or her full potential.

Just like Yamaha YZF R125 bike, the 2018 YZF-R1 is equipped with an updated Quick Shift System (QSS) that now offers seamless shifting during downshifting as well as upshifting. Together with its comprehensive suite of electronics that includes a 6-axis IMU, banking sensitive traction control and slide control – as well as front lift control and launch control, banking sensitive racing ABS and unified braking system (UBS) – the new QSS underlines the YZF-R1’s position as one of today’s most advanced Supersport models.

Inspired by the remarkable levels of worldwide interest generated by the T7 concept – together with the positive feedback and encouraging reviews from those who have ridden it – Yamaha has created Ténéré 700 World Raid, a prototype model which is being used to develop the final specification of the production model.

For 2018 Yamaha introduce the XT1200ZE Super Ténéré Raid Edition, the latest model in the Adventure segment, and regarded as one of the most durable and capable large capacity models in this competitive category. The high specification of this latest model is inspired by the development of the Ténéré 700 World Raid, and it comes fully prepared for serious long distance exploration.
