The new Suzuki GSX-R125 topped the speed tables in MCN’s recent 125cc sports bike test, beating its competitors from Yamaha, Honda, KTM, Aprilia, and Motorini.

Each machine was data-logged, with the same rider aboard each bike for its top speed run. The GSX-R125 recorded an actual top speed of 72.75mph, comfortably bettering the speeds set by the RS125, YZF-R125, RC125, CBR125, MT125RRi.

The testing team also ranked the bikes based on on-track performance, with the GSX-R125 again topping the tables.

MCN said of the GSX-R’s performance, “the Suzuki was the most impressive, with its compact size and light steering making it a pleasure to chuck about in the tight second-gear turns. On the straights, the free-revving motor offered silky-smooth power, encouraging the rider to keep it wound on for as long as possible.”

Boasting the best power-to-weight ratio in its class, the GSX-R125 is also currently available on Suzuki’s low-rate finance campaign, with 3% APR representative and a minimum deposit of just £33.
