With superb handling, the GSX-R1000 Buildbase is perfectly balanced owing to the latest BFRC (Balance Free Rear Cushion) lite shock and Showa BFF (Balance Free Front) forks which enhance corner traction. Made using aluminium tubing, the newly designed chassis is 38% lighter, giving the bike fantastic handling and agility. The newly released and incredibly exciting Suzuki GSX-R1000R Buildbase motorbike, is a hot topic for discussion right now. So, we thought we would review it for you, to tell you what its really like.
Advertised by Suzuki as “most advanced, most exciting GSX-R in history, with an aggressive new look to match”, this motorbike does not disappoint. A replica of the machines used by Bradley Ray, Richard Cooper and Billy McConnell, during the 2018 British Superbike Championship, there are only 50 of these amazing machines available. This limited-edition motorbike is designed for both the road and the track, which means it comes with plenty of genuine accessories, as well as a “Track Kit” comprised of Yoshimura parts.
As well as being the most powerful GSX-R created, it is also the most aerodynamic and compact, which gives it the best handling of any GSX-R. The Suzuki GSX-R1000R also comes fitted with the latest Showa Balance Free Front forks and the Balance Free Rear Cushion lite shock, which are perfect for racing, providing balance. The chassis is also more compact and lighter by 38%, with a new aluminium swingarm on both sides, to enhance rigidity, weight and balance. This powerful bike also has fantastic stopping power, with 320mm new Brembo stainless steel brake discs added, which are 10mm larger. In addition to Brembo radial-mount, monobloc front brake calipers, which have four x 32 mm pistons, working together with a 19mm master cylinder radial-pump and a rear brake system that utilises a 220mm disc and single-piston caliper.
If the powerful and agile design isn’t enough, this motorbike also comes fitted with some exciting extras. These include upgraded brake and clutch levers with protectors and clutch and alternator protectors, a smoked double bubble windscreen, a tank pad and fuel cap trim, front and rear axle slider sets, a chain adjuster set and a seat tail cover. As well as clear paint protection sticker kits, a Ogio trolley bag, an indoor bike cover, a paddock stand and a garage mat.
