SUZUKI V STROM 1050 – THE MASTER OF ADVENTURE

Escape the everyday with Suzuki V-Strom 1050 bike and go out in the wild. Take the adventurous spirit of the new generation V-Strom 1050 with its intelligent functionality you have unlimited potential to explore. Go beyond your boundaries and dive into your next adventure.

POWERFUL V-TWIN ENGINE

The Suzuki V-Strom 1050 is driven by a powerful V-Twin engine combining not only power but, character, excitement and economy too. The engine delivers a deep rumble from low rpm, as the revs rise linear torque through the mid-range and a maximum 107.4PS at high rpm. This engine is as enjoyable as it is easy to use making it versatile, excelling on any road or adventure.

V-TWIN POWER

This latest liquid-cooled, DOHC, 90° V-Twin engine meets new Euro 5 emission control standards while achieving high power of 107.4PS at 8,500rpm while maintaining low fuel consumption 57.65MPG. The engine delivers a deep rumble from low rpm, strong and linear torque in the mid-range and a maximum horsepower at high rpm. This engine helps the V-Strom 1050 deliver enjoyment and versatility, where ever your adventure takes you.

SUZUKI CLUTCH ASSIST SYSTEM (SCAS)

The Suzuki Clutch Assist System (SCAS) works as an assist clutch to make the lever easier to pull while transmitting power output, reducing rider fatigue. SCAS also works as a slipper clutch on downshifts, affording a certain degree of clutch slip to enable smoother downshifts.

DUAL SPARK PLUGS PER CYLINDER

Each Suzuki V-Strom 1050 cylinder head is equipped with two iridium spark plugs, with ignition timing controlled independently, contributing to high combustion efficiency, higher power output, a more linear throttle response, easier engine start up and a more stable idle. The primary plug is located in the centre of the combustion chamber and the secondary plug on the side. The primary plug is used for all rpm ranges, resulting in increased top end power. The secondary plug is used to improve combustion at low rpm and help obtain smoother output characteristics.

LIGHTWEIGHT AND AGILE

The V-Stroms lightweight and compact chassis is as important as its V-Twin engine when it comes to defining its character. Slim, even with a practical 20 litre fuel tank, it allows the rider to easily place their feet on the floor when stationary. It’s design also means an agile and stable adventure bike, which can cover motorway miles with ease while also comfortably negotiating twisty mountain passes and hairpin bends.

ADJUSTABLE SCREEN

The screen shape and size has been defined by extensive wind tunnel testing. The height can be adjusted to suit the V-Strom 1050 rider’s stature or preferences adjustable to one of 3 positions with the use of tools.

SUSPENSION AND BRAKES

The spring preload and compression/rebound damping of the KYB inverted front forks can be fully adjusted, allowing the suspension to be set based on the preference of the rider or the usage conditions. The rear suspension is a bottom link type mono-shock, and the preload can be adjusted simply by turning the easy access dial by hand. The Tokico monobloc front brake calipers are mounted radially and offer strong braking performance and control. Features two 310mm floating discs, 5mm thick and made from stainless steel. The rear brake has a 38mm single piston pin-slide caliper and 260mm disc.

ADVANCED RIDER TECHNOLOGY

The V-Strom 1050 is equipped with advanced rider technology, including a 3 mode traction control system, Suzuki Drive Mode Selector (SDMS) for 3 selectable power modes, low RPM assist and the Suzuki easy start system. This model also uses a ride-by-wire throttle along with these other intelligent controls to enhance ease of use, convenience, comfort and enjoyment.

TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM

The traction control system allows the rider to be in control with more confidence in diverse conditions. The traction control system offers three separate modes as well as an off setting, allowing the rider to quickly and easily change to road conditions or their riding preference. The traction control system continuously monitors the front and rear wheel speed, throttle position, crank position and gear position. When wheel spin is detected, the system quickly controls power output by managing ignition timing and air delivery. The rider can select from three modes, plus off. Mode one, two, and three differ in the timing and level of interventions. Mode one is for sport riding with minimal intervention. Mode three is for wet or cold conditions, with maximum traction control. Mode two offers a balance that is ideal for city riding on regular road conditions.

SUZUKI DRIVE MODE SELECTOR (SDMS)

The Suzuki Drive Mode Selector is a system that allows the rider to select from three different power output modes (A, B, and C). A mode -provides direct throttle response, B mode provides softer throttle response and C mode provides the softest response of the three modes. The SDMS also works in conjunction with the traction control system.

LOW RPM ASSIST AND SUZUKI EASY START

Suzuki Low RPM assist system monitors and can automatically raise the idle speed when taking off from a stop or when riding slowly. Using the electronic throttle, an even finer level control is made possible. The system makes it easier for the rider to pull away from a standstill or manoeuvre in heavy traffic or through a crowded car park.
The Suzuki Easy Start System allows the rider to easily start the engine with a single press of the starter button in any weather conditions or engine state, whether cold or hot. There is no need to continue to press the starter button until the starter ignites and turns the engine.

OUR DESIGN DNA

V-Strom 1050 adventure bike incorporates elements of both Suzuki’s legendary DR-Z prototype desert racer and the production DR-BIG model. The characteristic beak design, first adopted by Suzuki, stays true to Suzuki’s heritage while evolving the new generation machines for a bolder more aggressive look.

INTUITIVE INSTRUMENTS

The instrument panel uses a full LCD screen using a clean and intuitive layout with information displayed in order of priority. Included in the display are the speedometer, tachometer, gear position indicator, odometer, trip meter, instantaneous fuel consumption, average fuel consumption, riding range, fuel level indicator, engine coolant temperature indicator, ambient air temperature indicator, clock, voltage meter, service reminder, SDMS mode, traction control mode, engine rpm indicator light, freeze indicator light, turn signal indicator light, high beam indicator light, traction control indicator light, ABS indicator light, and neutral indicator light.

LED LIGHTING

The headlight uses a full LED design, is vertically stacked and a unique rectangular shape. It clearly illuminates the road ahead and surrounding area for excellent visibility. LEDs are used too for the rear combination lights, both the tail light and brake lights, for a clean look as well as high visibility.
